Smart Film Questions
What is the difference between smart film and smart glass?
Smart glass is a factory-built switchable glass unit that replaces your window. Smart film is a switchable layer applied to the glass you already have, so you get the same clear-to-private switching without replacing any glass.
Does smart film block UV?
Yes. Smart film blocks about 99% of UV rays in both the clear and private modes, which helps protect floors and furnishings.
How much power does smart film use?
Very little. The film draws a small amount of power only while it is clear. In private mode it uses no power at all.
Can smart film be used as a projection screen?
Yes. In private mode the frosted surface works as a rear-projection screen, which is popular in conference rooms and showrooms.
Can it go on shower or bathroom glass?
Yes, with a sealed edge system designed for wet areas. We confirm the glass and the wiring path at the site survey.
How long does smart film last?
Quality smart film is rated for many years of daily switching. We install films with manufacturer warranties and register them in your name.
